Wall-E is Here-E!

Have you heard of the adorable new animated character Wall E who's making it onto the big screens at Birch Carroll & Coyle? To supporting Camp Quality, BCC are holding a national charity screening of this film with all proceeds going directly back to the organisation.

 

Sunday, 31st August at 11am in both the Darwin and Casuarina Cinemas. Tickets are only $9 with ALL proceeds raised going to Camp Quality.

YWCA Encore

Encore is a gentle exercise program designed specifically for people who have undergone breast cancer treatment at any time in their lives. It helps to rebuild flexibility and mobility whilst restoring self-confidence, in a friendly supportive environment.

The program is free and runs for 2 hours per week for 8 weeks commencing on Saturday August 30.

PAWS Darwin is running a desexing campaign throughout the month of August as a part of national desexing month.

 

Desexing is and important part of pet ownership, particularly in male animals where it decreases roaming, fighting, and helps prevent the euthanasia of many unwanted puppies and kittens.

 

To help encourage the desexing of male cats and dogs throughout August, selected Darwin, Palmerston and Humpty Doo veterinary hospitals are heavily discounting their prices down.

 

Commodore Cruisers!

The street commodores cruise for charity is finally coming to Darwin this Sunday 24th August 2008!

Departing Hidden Valley at 10am you can check out Darwin’s hottest cars, cruise the racetrack and grab yourself a bite to eat.

It’s only $35 to enter and each entrant receives a gift bag. Come and help raise money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Breastscreen NT is seeking women aged 50 – 69 years for free breast cancer screening.

The procedure uses x-rays to detect the cancer at its earliest stages. Make an appointment today.

Women aged 50-69 years without any breast symptoms are strongly encouraged to have a screening mammogram every two years.

The Driver Primary school is holding an International Food Festival on the 11th of September.

Each class will prepare dishes chosen from a country from the 2008 Olympics and will be selling it on the night.
