Katie Woolf spoke with Health Minister Natasha Fyles.

The 360 show, were informed of 17 beds were last week taken up by mental health patients who could not be placed into the mental health ward. There were also mental health patients kept in emergency for three days.  A security guard was also stabbed by a mental health patient, receiving superficial injuries. 

When asked if there is a shortage of Mental Health beds at Royal Darwin Hospital, Natasha Fyles explained, "Yes I do acknowledge that Mental Health patients have caused a burden on Royal Darwin Hospital.  I'm working with RDH and Department of Health around how we can alleviate the pressure."
