Lia Finocchiaro calls for a tougher stance on crime after teen's death

Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro is calling for more action on crime after a teenage boy was killed when a stolen car crashed into a tree near Manton Dam.

"What is it going to take for this government to do something differently," Ms Finocchiaro says.

She has also criticised the NT Government's new funding arrangement with Thoroughbred Racing NT(TRNT) over the controversial Darwin Turf Club grandstand grant.

Under the agreement TRNT will reduce its funding to Darwin Turf Club by $6 million over a decade, directing that investment into regional infrastructure.

But Ms Finocchiaro believes the club should not have been punished over the $12 million grant.
