Gerry Wood strikes for longer working hours
Arguably one of the hardest working politicians in the Territory, Independent Gerry Wood has gone 'On Strike' as part of his campaign for longer working hours.
Mr Wood says he's taken the unusual step in response to the Gunner Government cutting the hours set aside for budget scrutiny.
Labor cut the time for questions from 60 hours to 30 hours, but Mr Wood wants the 60 hours reinstated - as does other Independents and the CLP Opposition.
Labor has denied the request for longer hours, so Mr Wood has decided to 'strike' for a better deal.
The CLP and Independents have decided to boycott the Estimates process - which kicked off today - saying 30 hours is not enough time for any meaningful scrutiny of the Territory's finances.
