Image result for NT ambulance officers

There have been eight attacks on Paramedics in the past eight weeks.

The most recent assault took place Thursday morning. Mix104.9 understands the incident resulted in someone having to be restrained until the police arrived.

Matthew Eastham, Director of Ambulance Services, told Katie Woolf on 360 this morning that sadly, our Paramedic Officers are subjected to verbal abuse, aggression, intimidation and threats daily.

"Paramedics have the right to feel safe at work".

Matthew Eastham is asking the public for help and ideas on how we can keep our Paramedics safe. He said occupational violence is a recurring problem for paramedics across the NT not just in Alice Springs.
