Katie Woolf caught up with Megan Smith, whose daughter Kayla had a stroke at the age of 11 years old.
Megan explained that Kayla’s stroke happened after whiplash and hitting her head on a ride at Movie World, but the stroke didn’t happen until 4 days later.
Every Year about 2 children in every 100,000 will have a stroke. Strokes can occur in all age groups – from newborns to older teenagers. Sometimes strokes occur in babies before they are born with an estimate of one newborn in every 2,300 – 5,000 having a stroke.
