Virgin Seasonal flight Darwin to Denpasar will not continue in 2020
Katie Woolf caught up with Minister for Tourism Lauren Moss.
In news which has disappointed a lot of Territorians, Virgin has announced changes to their permanent flights across Australia. The changes include the popular Darwin Bali leg. It was initially announced as a seasonal flight, however, this will not resume next dry.
Tigerair will also cut its Darwin to Brisbane flights among a raft of reductions in domestic routes. The new boss of the airline’s parent company, Virgin Australia, announced the cuts yesterday to shareholders. The Darwin to Brisbane route is expected to end early next year.
Virgin Australia said in a statement it will retire five ageing aircraft and reduce domestic capacity by 2 per cent in the first half of next year as it focuses on more profitable routes.
