Friday The Chief Minister confirmed he has provided the NT's corruption watchdog with documents showing the involvement of his former chief of staff, Alf Leonardi, in the Darwin Turf Club's bid to secure a $12 million grant for a new grandstand last year.  They show Mr Leonardi drafted a letter for the turf club that the club then used to lobby ministers, including the Chief Minister.  This grant has raised eyebrows from the word go.   On Friday Gary Higgins said the Chief Minister should stand aside while an investigation takes place. Terry mills reckons he should resign.

Lia Finocchiaro's reply, "The Investigation needs the opportunity to take its course.  The Chief Minister can't credibly continue on as Chief Minister while that happens.  He should really step aside to give it the clear air it needs."
