AI will soon be available for Top End tourists when it comes to planning their holiday.

The NT Government has unveiled an AI-powered Military Trip Planner which will create custom itineraries tailed to visitors’ location, interests and budget.

The planner will allow visitors to create personalised military history itineraries showcasing local Territory businesses, regions and experiences.

Minister for Tourism Marie-Clare Boothby says it’s part of an effort to put military tourism on the map.

“From the Top End’s pivotal role in World War II to its continued importance in Australia’s defence today, we’re leveraging our unique history to attract more visitors, support local jobs, and grow our economy.”

“The Territory is Australia’s very own battlefield – more bombs were dropped in the Territory than Pearl Harbor, including hundreds of kilometres from Darwin with historical sites right along the Stuart Highway,” she says.

The AI planner is now available via the NT Government’s website.
