Territorians are being invited to have their say on laws around owning a pet crocodile.
The proposed new regulations aim to strengthen the guidelines currently in place to own a croc.
The proposed new regulations include updated minimum enclosure standards and an onsite emergency plan.
Minister for Parks and Wildlife Marie-Clare Boothby says they’re cutting red tape and making it easier than ever to own the reptiles.
“If you’ve ever wanted to own a pet saltwater or freshwater crocodile, there’s only one place to do it – right here in the Northern Territory,” she says.
The draft guidelines are open to public feedback until December 12 the NT Government’s website.
