Hundreds of tributes and messages of condolence are flowing in for Katherine’s longest serving mayor James ‘Jim’ Forscutt after he passed away on Sunday.
After starting his career as a stockman, Jim later went into local government, where he eventually served as Mayor of the Katherine Town Council for 16 years.
In 2019 he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community.
