Police are calling for information about a suspicious house fire in Katherine South.
Emergency crews were called to the blaze on Riverbank Drive at 8.40am on Tuesday.
The house sustained extensive damage and fortunately no one was inside at the time.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Byron May believes the home was broken into before the blaze.
“A crime scene was established and with the assistance of Fire Investigators, Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch detectives continue to investigate the matter.
“Police are urging anyone who may have CCTV footage of suspicious behaviour in the vicinity at that time, or has any knowledge of the circumstances, to contact police on 131 444.”
