A 49-year-old man is facing a string of charges over child sexual offences in the West Arnhem region.
Detectives from the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team executed a search warrant at the man’s home in the remote community yesterday.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with five offences including possessing, transmitting and soliciting child abuse material.
The 49-year-old has been remanded in custody to face court today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Matt Akers has condemned the alleged offending.
“Child exploitation in any of its forms is reprehensible and anyone who views, possesses or creates child abuse material is committing a crime and you will be caught.”
