The Territory’s screen industry continues to grow under the latest round of funding from the NT Government.
$120,000 will see three screen projects made in the Territory, as part of the latest round of Screen Territory’s Funding Program.
The projects benefitting from the funding include Muster Dogs Where Are They Now, a four episode documentary series to be filmed across Darwin, Douglas Daly and Katherine.
Local production company Tamarind Tree Pictures will receive $40,000 to make a 30 minute documentary about one of Australia’s most significant and prolific female artist’s Emily Kam Kngwarray.
The funding will also support the creation of a documentary series about Cyclone Tracy, as we approach the 50th anniversary of the natural disaster.
The funding program aims to build the Territory’s screen industry, while boosting employment and amplifying local storytelling.
Chief Minister Eva Lawler says the NT Government is ‘proud’ to support our local screen industry.
“Screen projects bring substantial economic benefits for the Territory through the creation of jobs and good and services and through the promotion of the Territory to global audiences,” she says.
