Man charged over spate of assaults in Alice Springs after fleeing interstate
A 24-year-old man has been charged over a crime spree in the Alice Springs CBD late last month.
It is alleged the man was part of a group who physically assaulted two 25-year-old men and three police officers.
It is further alleged he stole a handbag from someone at a restaurant in the Todd Mall before seriously assaulting a staff member who chased them.
Police allege the man and co-offenders fled interstate after committing the crimes.
Upon returning to Alice Springs, he was arrested by members of the Criminal Investigation Branch, Strike Force Viper and dog squad.
He has been charged with aggravated robbery, assaulting police, obtaining property by deception and unlawfully causing serious harm.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to face court in June.
