Woman Caught With Commercial Quantity Of Drugs At Darwin Airport

Officers from the Drug and Organised Crime Division have charged a 57-year-old female with drug offences.

The woman was apprehended by police when she arrived on a flight from Melbourne on Wednesday.

She was subjected to a search which located three Cryovac packages strapped to her body. The packages contained an estimated 12 ounces (340 grams) of methamphetamine.

She was charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule One Dangerous Drug – Commercial Quantity.
  • Supply Of Schedule One Dangerous Drug – Commercial Quantity

She is due to appear in Darwin Local Court yesterday.
