The Sideline View with Kenny Vowles

Meet Kenny, who boasts a long sporting history, from humble beginnings working his way up through grass roots hockey, cricket and footy, to representing The Northern Territory in dual sporting codes.

An impressive sporting career in itself, not to mention his stint representing Australia in Cricket, and even going pro for several years abroad.

Mix104.9 couldn’t think of a stronger role model who understands and engages with the local community, quite like Kenny does.

Following his accomplished sporting career, Kenny spent years working in the public sector, in Cricket development and in the then Northern Territory (NT) Government’s Department of Sport and Recreation.

As a former NT Government Minister for the Arafura Games, Kenny has long been an advocate for Territory sport, in particular junior sport. An esteemed Cricket veteran and now sports presenter.

Kenny began to dabble in sports broadcasting for the One Day International, between Australia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, taking to it like the all-rounder he is. Kenny was inducted into the Steve Abala Role Model Sporting Hall of Fame and was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in recognition of his services to cricket as a player, coach, administrator and role model.

Join Kenny every Saturday, as he tackles local sports from juniors to masters and everyone in between.
