A 54-year-old man has died following a helicopter incident in a remote community in Arnhem Land.
Police say a helicopter carrying two people hit a bird at around 2pm yesterday (July 14) in Gapuwiyak.
It’s believed the impact then caused the bird to fatally strike a 54-year-old passenger.

The chopper was able to land safely.
A report will now be prepared for the coroner.
NT WorkSafe and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) have been notified of the incident.
