A 4-year-old girl has died in Tiwi after being hit by a falling palm tree.
Emergency services were called to a home in the region just before 2pm on Saturday (July 19), where it’s reported the girl was struck while playing in the yard.
Police and St John Ambulance were both called but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 11-year-old boy was also hit by the falling tree and received non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
