Member for Nightcliff plans to move motion to establish a bond board in the NT and is pushing for a 2-year rent freeze and cap on increases
Member for Nightcliff Kat McNamara says she will put forward a motion on renter’s rights in NT Parliament next week, seeking to establish an independent bond board, similar to the approach in other states.
She also told Katie Woolf she’d like to see a 2-year rent freeze and 2 per cent cap on rental increases to provide some cost of living relief to renters.
Ms McNamara is also pushing for the NT Government to look into minimum standards for energy efficiency and heating and cooling requirements.
