Jenna Ortega and Netflix have shot the Addams Family IP back into the spotlight after the wild success of Netflix’s original series “Wednesday”. After just completing its second season, another member of the beloved family is getting their own spin-off.
Fred Armisen, the actor who plays Uncle Fester in the Wednesday series, has reconfirmed their plans for Netflix’s spin-off for his character. The original plan for the spin-off was announced all the way back in December of 2023. But in a recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Armisen was asked on if the show was still in development and where the project was at in which Armisen responded with:
“Yeah, we’re working on it,… It’s fantastic… It’s amazing… That’s all I can really say about it as far as the anticipation of it all. I love getting to do it and to embody this character who’s existed for a long time. That’s the fun of it”
As of now there is no update in terms of when we may see Uncle Fester back on our screens. But between the Wednesday season 3 and his own show on the horizon, we can expect to see a lot more of Fred Armisen.
