Minister says bus interchange closures have gone well and flags lighting solutions for Bagot Road to improve pedestrian safety

Minister for Infrastructure and Logistics Bill Yan says from all reports everything has gone well following the closure of the Darwin and Casuarina bus interchanges on Monday, adding that he plans to catch a bus and use the new tracker app when he is in Darwin next.

Asked if the issues have just been pushed elsewhere, he told Katie Woolf the whole point of closing the bus stops was to prevent anti-social behaviour and large gatherings.

Responding to calls for a safety review of Bagot Road to prevent pedestrian strikes, Mr Yan said the Department is working on lighting solutions for hotspots along Bagot Road.
