Health Minister Steve Edgington says he’s disappointed only $10m may be provided towards maternity services.

The Health Minister revealed exclusively to 360 with Katie Woolf, in his discussions with the Commonwealth, there may only be $10million provided to maternity services at RDH instead of the requested $35million.

Steve Edgington said he’s still waiting on confirmation on the figure from Federal Minister Mark Butler, but $10million has been suggested as it is more in line with support provided to other States.

Mr Edgington said the lower figure means only a refurbishment would be able to be delivered at the maternity ward, instead of the preferred expansion and upgrade.
