AMA NT President Dr John Zorbas responds to exclusive revelations on 360 with Katie Woolf that the Commonwealth is considering only providing $10million in extra funding to improve maternity services.

NT Health Minister, Steve Edgington said he’s been left extremely disappointed in discussions with the Federal Minister Mark Butler, given the NT Government had request $35million.

In response, Dr Zorbas said he’s angry and the potential mothers of Darwin should be ropeable.

He told Katie, “Ultimately when it comes to fixing health servcies, $10million doesn’t go far.

“It won’t fix capacity issues, it won’t be enough, it won’t be what we need.”
