Chief Minister slams Councils for not opening facilities to accept public green waste after Cyclone Fina
Lia Finocchiaro has lashed the City of Darwin Council and Litchfield Council for not opening their waste management facilities to accept green waste from the public.
Ms Finocchiaro says she feels gobsmacked that two councils are locking people of the dump to drop off their tree and green matter.
Another “emergency” location has been opened to the public.
Darwin Lord Mayor Peter Styles responded to the Chief’s claims, insisting the Government hasn’t followed through with a public location and that it wasn’t opened as promised.
However, 360 received a call from the company managing Hidden Valley that said they had opened from Midday Sunday.
Listen to the Chief Minister and Lord Mayor’s interviews in full.
