Permits to burn have opened early in parts of the Top End – as part of an effort to assist in the recovery of Tropical Cyclone Fina.
Burn permits have opened in Katherine, Adelaide River, Batchelor and Litchfield Shire regions.
The conditions for permits include that the fire must contain only green waste material and must not cause air pollution or excessive smoke.

Firebreaks must also be installed and are maintained on the property
