Here is all the Aussie Businesses we Lost in 2025

It’s been a tough year all around, but it was harder on some more than others. Australian businesses had some devastating loses this year with the closure of several major Australian retailers. From memorable food services to iconic clothing brands, nobody was safe. Well grab yourself a drink, put on your best black clothes, and pour one out for these Australian businesses that couldn’t survive 2025.

Rivers

Back in March of this year, we wept as we waved goodbye to the veteran retailer, Rivers, after they shut down all stores across the country after 45 years of trade.

Menulog

This one still stings and feels like it came out of nowhere. Only last month it was announced that Menulog could no longer keep up with and shut its doors after roughly 20-years. Menulog shutdown its platform on November 26th, it’s website now informs customers to head over to Uber Eats.

Jeanswest

Jeanswest shut down all of its physical stores across the country in March of this year. It still operates online and appears to be that some stores are still open in New Zealand but you can’t find Jeanswest at your local anymore.

Michel’s Patisserie

Founded back in 1988, Michel’s Patisserie has been a staple across Australia for decades. However, in February its owner (Retail Food Group) announced it will be retiring the brand and the remaining 19 stores would change to either a Gloria Jean’s or a Donut King.

Millers, Noni B, & Katies

These three popular retailers all shut down permanently earlier this year after their parent company, Mosaic Brands, enter voluntary administration and were liquidated. Sadly all Millers, Noni B, and Katies have all left us as of April of this year.
