A man and woman have been arrested following multiple property crimes in Palmerston overnight.
Police say a woman was approached by a man at 5:30 yesterday afternoon (February 23), threatening her with a knife and demanding her car keys before fleeing the scene.
Around 3 hours later an intruder allegedly broke into a home and threatened someone inside with a knife, before leaving in their car.
Police spotted the car in the CBD a short time later and began a pursuit, which was later called off in the interest of public safety.
A Tyre Deflation Device eventually brought the car to a halt on McMillans Drive, with a male driver and female passenger both taken into custody.
Charges are expected to be laid later today.
