String of illegal alcohol seizures in Katherine

Authorities have seized a large amount of alcohol in the Katherine region.

Police received a tip off on Saturday about a car driving from Darwin to Beswick on Saturday night (March 14), intercepting the vehicle and allegedly finding a large amount of illegal alcohol.

In a separate incident officers seized 30 litres of Beer while conducting compliance checks in Pine Creek on Sunday afternoon March 15).

Katherine Social Order Unit Sergeant Matthew Holmberg says authorities are actively targeting the secondary supply of alcohol in flood-affected areas.

“To anyone thinking of illegally supplying alcohol to others, our message is simple – don’t do it or prepare to face the consequences.”
