NT Corrections has confirmed to 360 this morning, 3 officers have been stood down on administrative leave with pay following the third escape of a prisoner on Sunday.  

The agency has launched a review of procedures and investigation is underway into the incident and two other escapes.  

26-year-old Isaac Thomspon was on the run for more than 48 hours and was arrested without incident in Darwin River yesterday afternoon.  

Thompson, who is alleged to have links to the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang, escaped corrections custody  while being escorted from an ambulance into Royal Dawin Hospital. 

Police have now charged the 26 year old, along with a 45 year old with aiding escape and breach of bail.  

It’s been confirmed detectives are examining links between recent escape incidents including whether offenders have received assistance while evading police.
