The Minister for Children and Families says negotiations with the owners of the accommodation on Batten Road were demanding too much money to renew the lease for Yilli Housing and Mission Australia to continue operating.

The organisations have warned relocating almost 400 residents within three months could place significant pressure on emergency housing, hospitals, police and other frontline services.
