Police Appeal for Information After Man Goes Missing at Nitmiluk National Park

NT Police are seeking public assistance to locate a missing man who was last seen at Edith Falls.

61-year-old Dominic O’Connell was visiting Edith Falls with his wife on Sunday, and was last seen around the lower Plunge Pool between 1pm and 3pm.

Police and Parks and Wildlife NT Rangers have conducted extensive searches of the area, but have not been able to locate Dominic.

Police divers will commence searching the water this morning, with Edith Falls remaining open but the lower Plunge Pool closed to the public.

Dominic is described as Caucasian, approximately six feet tall, of slim build, with shoulder length brown and white hair and a short beard, and he was last seen wearing prescription glasses with dark blue frames, white shorts with a black and blue pattern, and no shirt.

He also has distinctive tattoos on both shoulders.

NT Police says there were a number of people at the Edith Falls Plunge Pool during the time Dominic was last seen.

Anyone who was in the area at the same time as Dominic or has information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference P26254100.
