Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says $200,000 damage to the new Holtze youth detention centre shows the level of lawlessness occurring, adding that police are investigating and reforms for offending in custody are on the cards.

The Chief also announced the start of cost of living relief including freezing car rego fees, free driver’s licences for a year and three-year trailer registrations.

In response to an incident in Parap, Ms Finocchiaro told Katie Woolf three primary students were allegedly threatened with a knife near the Bakery on their way to school this morning.

The Chief also revealed Amphibian Aerospace Industries was given a $2.5 million loan from the NT Labor Government which has been paid but the NT has a $3 million equity stake in the company which no longer has a presence at Darwin Airport.
