Alice MP welcomes curfew laws but finds it suspicious they doesn’t apply to Aboriginal land

Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley has welcomed new curfew laws, saying it’s an enormous relief that curfews can now be enacted easily as a stop gap to provide some reprieve.

But she told Katie Woolf there are some shortcomings as curfews cannot be implemented on Aboriginal land, preventing police from doing their job.

Ms Lambley says she is concerned about the powers the laws provide the Police Commissioner and hopes curfews will be used with great discretion.
