Bus interchanges being removed in Darwin/Palmerston to curb anti-social behavior and cost of NT Art Gallery blows out $100 million

Minister for Infrastructure and Logistics Bill Yan says the Darwin, Palmerston and Casuarina bus interchanges are being removed, not relocated elsewhere, to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
He told Katie Woolf bus travel will also remain free until a new ticketing system can be put in place, adding that free travel is also keeping drivers safe.
Mr Yan also announced that the NT Art Gallery in Darwin CBD will no longer go ahead as planned due to the project cost blowing out by more than $100 million.
He says the government will conduct an EOI process to find a cost effective and impactful use of the building, which is under construction.
