Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson is calling for a review of youth services to make sure they are delivering on what they are supposed to, saying they should not be funded otherwise.

He told Katie Woolf a builder asked to deliver a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom house that only delivers a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house wouldn’t get paid so the same should apply to service providers.

Mayor Paterson has welcomed the opening of the newly refurbished Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre but says it’s five years too late.
