Calls for new specialist DV team, dedicated to protecting victims after woman’s alleged murder

Member for Araluen Robyn Lambley says it’ll take some time for the CLP Government to get on top of crime and fears Territorians could become inpatient if they don’t see change quickly.

Ms Lambley told Katie Woolf being honest and open is the approach she’d take if she was the new Chief Minister, which was lacking under Labor.

In response to media reports that NT police were too busy to do a welfare check on a woman nine hours before she was allegedly murdered in Darwin by her partner, who’d been banned from contacting her for two decades, Ms Lambley suggests a specialist team be established, dedicated to protecting victims.
