Calls for Royal Commission into services in Alice Springs after group brutally bash young girl

Yipirinya School Principal Gavin Morris says he’s devastated that girls who attend the school were involved in a brutal public bashing of one girl in Alice Springs.

He told Katie Woolf it’s the worst attack he’s seen in 25 years, adding that it was cultural payback following a fatal crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old man.

With millions of dollars being invested into Central Australia to deal with social issues, Mr Morris says a Royal Commission is needed into town camps and service providers to ensure the funding is ended up where it’s most needed.
