Canberra talks to determine best course of action for Darwin Port with lease requirements and Landbridge’s financial situation being scrutinised

Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure Bill Yan says Department staff will meet with the Federal Government in Canberra tomorrow about the future of the Darwin Port after an audit revealed major financial concerns within Landbridge in November.
He told Katie Woolf the talks will focus on Landbridge’s requirements under the 99-year lease, how it’s managing its debt and maintaining solvency, with the NT Government able to break the lease if the requirements aren’t being met.
Questioned about the Chief Minister’s lack of action in response to the NT ICAC’s findings of improper conduct by a senior public officer, Mr Yan says there are key differences between that matter and what unfolded with former NT Children’s Commissioner Colleen Gwynne.
