CareFlight will remain largely unaffected by Darwin Airport runway works says Minister

Tourism Minister Nicole Manison says CareFlight has contingency plans in place to ensure it can continue to operate during major runway works at Darwin International Airport.

The Defence Force, which is conducting the works, will close the main runway from 2am to 11.30am on October 9 to November 30, with a secondary runway to be used for regional airlines if needed.

Ms Manison told Katie Woolf aeromedical flights within the NT may be disrupted over a two day period, with more reliance on choppers during that time.
