Chansey Paech defends his Metcash shareholding, claims no wrong-doing

Deputy Chief Minister Chansey Paech says he’s complied with all codes of conduct and laws in regards to his shares in Metcash which supplies grog and groceries in Alice Springs.

He would not disclose whether or not he told his Cabinet colleagues about his interests when decisions were being made around alcohol restrictions after Stronger Futures legislation ended.

Mr Paech told Katie Woolf he decided to divest the shares in case he had to stand in for another Minister and after encouragement from Chief Minister Eva Lawler.
