Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has admitted consultation could have been better with Hospitality NT and the NT Police Association over alcohol, BDR and policing changes.

She told Katie Woolf a reduction in trading hours at Darwin bottle shops will be reviewed by looking at crime statistics and the response from police at the end of January.

Ms Fyles did not rule out changes around address requirements for purchasing alcohol in the future, which was requested by the Police Commissioner in addition to trading hour changes.

The Chief also stood by the government’s cap on alcohol sales at corner stores saying there are no plans to change it.
