Chief Minister says Darwin City Stadium isn’t a priority given the government’s current financial state after the release of AFL NT plan

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says amendments giving police express powers to enter a property for parole and DVO checks, including drug and alcohol testing, are on the NT parliament agenda this week.

Ms Finocchiaro also told Katie Woolf she was not aware of an NT ICAC investigation into the prosecution of Colleen Gwynne until the Attorney-General inquired about it and has not ruled out an apology to Ms Gwynne if deemed an appropriate action.

The Chief says she is also not aware of whether the ICAC has investigated the Zachary Rolfe case, adding she won’t follow it up until the inquest into the circumstances of Kumanjayi Walker’s death is finalised.

Asked about AFL NT’s Darwin City Stadium plan, the Chief said it’s not a priority, with the government also not in a position to contribute funding.
