Chief Minister says Federal Government need to step up to ensure Darwin doesn’t lose its only private hospital as operators face administration

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says there’s no certainty around the future of Healthscope, which operates Darwin Private Hospital and she’s calling on the Federal Government to closely monitor the situation and be ready to act.
Asked about alcohol-fueled crime in Katherine, the Chief said the industry needs to do more, pointing to an upcoming Liquor Accord meeting, adding that she expects police will ramp up their presence at bottle shops when 15 new constables are deployed to the town.
Ms Finocchiaro also told Katie Woolf footy, funerals and royalties contributed to the recent issues in Katherine and her government is working with the Federal Government and land councils on changes around royalty payments.
