Chief Minister says she has full confidence in Martin Dole as Acting Police Commissioner despite revelations he was also on job panel

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says she has commended the lengthy process of terminating the appointment of Police Commissioner Michael Murphy and has left the door open for him to resign.

The Chief told Katie Woolf she has full confidence in Martin Dole who is now acting in the role, despite Mr Dole also being on the recruitment panel during which Mr Murphy mismanaged a conflict of interest in hiring a mate.

Ms Finocchiaro has also flagged changes to the NT ICAC, which is costing taxpayers $35 million, particularly when it comes to identity protection but says it’s not an urgent priority.
