Chief Minister says she has no plans to meet with paediatricians who wrote to her with concerns about spit hoods, deeming it a ‘political stunt’

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro says she has no plans to meet with 45 paediatricians who wrote to her with concerns about spit hoods, with the Chief deeming it a political stunt, telling them to focus on treating sick kids.

The Chief told Katie Woolf the government has confidence in the NT Coroner but at times won’t agree with the findings and recommendations, adding that inquests shouldn’t be dragged on or cost as much as $7.4 million.

Ms Finocchiaro also said Declan’s Law is making a difference, with a 44 per cent increase in people not getting bail since the laws took effect in January.
