CLP commits to review BDR and mandatory alcohol rehab if elected

Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro says if elected the CLP would review the Banned Drinker Register claiming it’s not as effective as it could be.

She told Katie Woolf reducing trading hours at Darwin bottle shops will only see staff lose wages, not reduce alcohol-related harm.

Ms Finocchiaro also took aim at the government for “targeting and punishing” corner store operators, who are having to close over the 25 per cent cap on alcohol sales.
