Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro says the NT Government needs to focus more on filling school counsellor roles instead of hiring wellbeing officers, arguing it would be easier to do if crime wasn’t out of control.

She told Katie Woolf the CLP plans to fund swimming lessons and water safety education for all primary school age children by making it part of the NT curriculum for Health and Physical Education if elected in August.

Ms Finocchiaro has also renewed calls for an audit into service providers that receive government funds after revelations Tangentyere Council had its funding doubled by the NT Government for men’s behavioural programs.
