Corrections crisis also impacting police and calls for spit hoods to be used on youths in the field
NT Police Association President Nathan Finn fears there could be riots at NT prisons, which are overfull and understaffed, with emergency actions being taken Corrections.
He told Katie Woolf the Corrections crisis is taking a toll on police with watch houses being used to accommodate inmates, causing delays and stress for police.
Mr Finn also says members have welcomed the ability to use spit hoods on youths in custody, which was required for an incident last week, but officers want the scope expanded to be able to use spit hoods in the field.
