Curfew makes dramatic difference in Alice Springs but three cars were stolen overnight

Police Commissioner Michael Murphy says a curfew has made a dramatic difference in Alice Springs but three cars were stolen from a business in the CBD.

The Commissioner made a public order declaration yesterday for adults and youth for 10pm to 6pm after a shocking weekend including serious assaults on police, a dv stabbing and a brawl involving 80 people on the Alice Springs council lawns.

Commissioner Murphy told Katie Woolf officers engaged 44 people in the curfew area with 23 directed to leave.
